BEGINNERS YOGA
This course explores three important pillars of Yoga; Body, Breath and Being.
Body
We take time each week to learn the key postures (asanas) of Yoga from the ground up, becoming familiar with our anatomy and alignment based instructions. These postures and instructions act as a medium to bring us ‘in’ to our body, to meet ourselves as we are. The majority of class will be made up of movement/posture.
Breath
So much of the magic that we feel during/after a Yoga class comes down to the way we breath both during movement and in stillness. The breath has the ability to work wonders on the nervous system. In this course, we work slowly with the natural breath, to begin to unwind mind and body tension. We practice simple (but useful) breath work in every class.
Being
Much more important than what we do, is why and how we go about it. Even though we are ‘doing’ things on a yoga mat, what this course emphasises is that it’s not about the ‘doing' but rather creating space to BE in our body, to observe, feel and respond.
Please contact yogawithelly7@gmail.com with any queries or concerns, if you have any injuries but would still like to join. This course is open to everyone, from complete beginners to those wishing to re-visit foundations.
Can’t wait to meet you on the mat!
